Share Our Strength: No Kid Hungry Summer Meals Grant

The No Kid Hungry Summer Meals grant aims to help organizations expand access to and participation in USDA-supported summer meals programs with the purchase of equipment, materials, and innovative initiatives that support summer feeding. NEW FOR 2018: No Kid Hungry Virginia is especially excited to seek and fund applicants for initiatives in the following categories: Enrichment Enhancement, Mobile Meals, Meal Quality/Farm to Summer, and Youth Engagement.

The Dairy Alliance Summer Meals Grants

Breakfast Grants

Share Our Strength: No Kid Hungry Virginia Breakfast Grant

The No Kid Hungry Breakfast Expansion Grants aim to support schools with the purchase of approved equipment, materials, and initiatives facilitating alternative breakfast delivery models. Schools currently implementing or preparing to implement a breakfast after the bell delivery model are welcome to apply.

Action For Healthy Kids Breakfast Grant

Action for Healthy Kids will have breakfast grants available for the 2018-2019 school year.  Schools will receive up to $3,000 and technical assistance to implement new alternative breakfast delivery models. Eligibility information, applications and all important details can be found here beginning January 20th.  Grants will go live on February 5, 2018 and will close April 6, 2018.  For more details, contact Sapna Hencinski at shencinski@actionforhealthykids.org.

 

Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP60)

Schools can apply for up to $4,000 in grant funds to support school-wide nutrition and physical activity initiatives that make breakfast more accessible to all students. Apply online at www.FuelUptoPlay60.com Contact Kristin Brittle at kbrittle@thedairyalliance.com (The Dairy Alliance) or Kristina Deecher at kdeecher@milk4u.org (ADANE), to create a sustainable plan.  There is no required percentage of students eligible for free or reduced meals to apply. The application will begin in Spring 2018 and close in early June.

Afterschool Meals Grants

Share Our Strength: No Kid Hungry Virginia CACFP Grant

This grant opportunity is funded through No Kid Hungry to help At-Risk Afterschool Meal (aka “Supper”) sponsors expand participation in afterschool meals and extended day meal programs that receive reimbursement through the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
